Random

I would like to start by thanking some people who have inspired me to start writing my own blog. Bhushan, Sudip 'the camel' Dey .
6 years of hard work which included some days of really hard(ly)work in a BPO had taken a lot of stress, given me an opportunity to work onsite in th UK and helped me learn a lot about the work culture. I had to make a move a way out of it into a field which I wanted to work in for which I had studied and also gave me humane work hours (please read day shift)and of course some good money. Unbelievingly long time I took to transition myself and it finally happened.
I am grateful to God, my wife, my family and my friends who have stood by me when I decided to take the plunge and a huge risk of changing the track of my career. I had to leave behind all the experiences I had gained in the BPO industry and start fresh once again 6 years after I first started working. Trust me this was not an easy decision.
A new place comes with a lot things which may take you by surprise. There is a good mixture of good and uncomfortable experiences that may come your way.
It is the people at work that will make your experiences more good than uncomfortable. I have the opportunity to work with some really good souls. These are the people who have welcomed me with open arms and never made me feel like an outsider.
I do miss my previous company, especially because I have managed to make some life long friends. And most of them were my juniors, people who did not like the dirty organisational politics and stayed away from indulging in them. People who cared for others and made sure that they did their job the right way.
The friends from "AVIVA" is what I call them when I am referring them to others, were some of the most diverse people you will ever come across. They had varied interests, came from different backgrounds,12 different mother tongues spoken but we all shared the same wavelength. They are the brightest memories I have had in the last 6 years. All my memories of the previous organisation revolve around my friends including the happier and not so happier times. Memories both professional and personal also revolve around them.
We have planned to meet once a month and I know that this will be very difficult to achieve. The job of co-ordinating with all will take a big effort. This will seldom be possible. The phone calls which initially happen every week will at some point happen once a month and then calls will be made only on birthdays or anniversaries. With so many social networking sites around you will definitely be in touch with them but only on the friend list.
Things will change and no one can predict the future, maybe we will meet once a month regularly just like I meet my college friends every Saturday at the same place for the last 8 years! This is just a small tribute to all of them who have helped me be a person what I am today.
The title of my first blog which I am now writing was 'Work' but now towards the end I have realized that the title was not appropriate to the content and hence changed it. I suddenly missed them and wanted to share my thoughts so I started writing.
The new company is closer to home only 6 km one side, while earlier i traveled 40 km in a day continuously for 62 months come rain or sun (it doesn't snow here in Pune ;-))and I absolutely hated it, but today I miss that "long drive".
